e all'utilizzo del prodotto.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Language translation (the transfer of the meaning of a text from one language to another for readership) is
the most important function of a dictionary. For many years, people have been studying the machine translation technology which can
translate written or speaking expressions from one language into another by means of computers. Language translation methods have
evolved over the years and vary from traditional human translation to machine translation to machine translation with a human
translation component.

Looking up the definition of a word in a printed dictionary is a time consuming nuisance, particularly
when learning a foreign language. Frequent interruptions to look up definitions of words not only increase the time required to
learn words, but also interrupt the concentration which is needed to efficiently learn.

Educators and students at all levels need access to reference information every day but usually need
to carry several books to get the information they need. Instead of carrying these heavy books from classroom to classroom, students
can access this information at the touch of a button with an electronic dictionary that fits into a school bag pocket.

The increasing presence of portable electronic dictionaries (PEDs) in classrooms is dividing teachers.
Some welcome them, while others says they distract students, can be overused and encourage dangerous word-for-word translation.
